Impromptu Blog Post!
I was listening to the Offspring today on my way to work, and I enjoyed myself immensely! Who remembers the Offspring? Anyone? Anyone at all? Just me then? Ok…
In my twenties, I was a self-proclaimed “rock chick”. I loved rock music. Linkin Park, U2, The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, you name it. It soothed me, helped me process my anger and frustration somehow. I thought I was weird till a few days ago when I read this article, which helped me understand why I’d turn to rock music when I was upset.
I know there are fellow closet rock chicks who like the blend of electric, bass and drums, just like I do. If you are like me and love you some rock, here are a few songs that you can add to your playlists, if you don’t have them already:
+44-When Your Heart Stops Beating
Green Day-Basket Case
Joan Jett-Bad Reputation
Red Hot Chili Peppers-Fortune Faded
The list is by no means exhaustive, but these are a few that you can play and have a little dance party to shake off some of the stress of January. We’re releasing stress this month, and music is always another way.
What type of music do you listen to to de-stress? Lemme hear it in the comments!
Until next time… your Quarter Wife.
