Favourite Thing #18: Cute Glasses

The time has come: I need to go to the optician and get my glasses changed. I’m excited, because this time I want to go out of my comfort zone and try a new style of glasses.

Exhibit A: Comfort Zone

Now, don’t get me wrong, I like these glasses. They are safe glasses, they suit anyone and everyone. It’s just that: they’re safe. I’ve had many variations of the safe glasses throughout my life. They’ve been black, blue, purple (that was daring then), more black, and now brown.

I’ve decided to step it up a notch and try a style outside my comfort zone. My inspiration is Carmen from My Natural Sistas, who wrote a post about her glasses as well. I looked at them and I was like, “Yes, I shall be adventurous too!”

Here are the styles up for consideration:

So here are my choices. I made sure to seek out brands I could find at John McMinn, because they’ve been my glasses people since I was an awkward teenager living in Bulawayo. So you could imagine my joy when I found out that they were now in Harare.

Which ones should I get? And those who wear glasses, what type do you like? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time… your Quarter Wife

  1. I don’t wear glasses but I do love sticking my nose in other people’s business. I say the thin frames would be a lovely change.
